The Thermomix®, a brainchild of German innovators Vorwerk, who crafted the very first prototype back in 1971. Over the decades, they have passionately refined and elevated its functionalities and performance, shaping it into the awe-inspiring masterpiece we marvel at today.

  • VKM5 - 1961

    VKM5 was already combining 7 functions in a single universal food mixer.

    In the dawn of culinary marvels, a breakthrough occurred in 1961—the birth of the VKM5, a pioneering universal kitchen machine that merged seven extraordinary functions into one: stirring, kneading, slicing, grating, mixing, grinding, and juicing. This revolutionary creation marked the inception of a remarkable era where innovation and convenience merged in perfect harmony, forever changing the landscape of cooking as we knew it.

  • VM 2000 - 1971

    The pioneering Thermomix® kitchen appliance—the first of its kind—is a remarkable fusion of a food processor and integrated heating function.

    In a groundbreaking leap, Vorwerk® introduced the VM 2000, affectionately dubbed the "soup mixer," a true pioneer capable of both mixing and heating. This remarkable creation serves as one of the "ancestors" that paved the way for the extraordinary modern-day marvel we now know as the Thermomix®.

  • VM2200 - 1977

    The VM2200 had a larger bowl, increasing its capacity from 1,5 to 2 litres compared to the VM2000.

  • TM3000 - 1980

    The defining feature of the TM3000 model lies in its capacity to effortlessly control temperature and offer 12 distinct mixing speeds.

  • TM3300 - 1982

    The TM3300 underwent a remarkable transformation, boasting a revamped design that now adorns a fresh white colour.

  • TM21 - 1996

    A significant milestone was achieved with the integration of an advanced integrated scale and the revolutionary "Varoma®," allowing for the groundbreaking capability of simultaneous multi-level steam cooking.

  • TM31 - 2004

    With the TM31, new frontiers were unlocked as it enabled precise temperature control for heating and introduced the remarkable ability to rotate the mixing knife in reverse.

  • TM5 - 2014

    A culinary revolution took flight with the introduction of guided-cooking functionality, unlocking a universe of Thermomix® recipes known as Cookidoo®.

  • TM6 - 2019 (Current Model)

    The TM6 keeps getting better and better with its seamless integration of the Cookidoo® platform and continuous software updates, offering even more modes and functionalities without any effort on your part.

The origin of Thermomix® traces back to the 1960s when a determined German mother sought to prepare homemade baby food but couldn't find an appliance that could grind and cook simultaneously. Over four generations and with the expertise of 120 engineers, the appliance has undergone continuous improvement and perfection.

Having taken Europe by storm since its development in 1960, the revolution truly began in France in 1970 when the idea of a machine capable of blending and cooking soups was born. In 1971, the original Thermomix® VM 2000 debuted in France, spreading later to Spain and Italy.

Since then, Vorwerk has Continuously developed new models with enhanced performance and innovative features, culminating in the latest creation, the Thermomix® TM6. Today, the Thermomix® is proudly manufactured in a Vorwerk plant in France, where engineers continue to push the boundaries of technological advancements.

This ingenious appliance has found its place in millions of kitchens worldwide, with an astounding rate of at least 2 sales every minute. As dedicated chefs around the globe craft new recipes and cookbooks catered to Thermomix® users, this remarkable innovation remains a delightful conduit to explore the very best of world cuisine.
